Canister filter question

Hey

I just bought my first canister fliter, i've ALWAYS used HOB filters with no problem but my 190L tank needed a canister so I got one, I got at Blue Planet brand (tankmaid) as it is what I can get thru my workplace.

My question is, are they generally loud?? The HOB filters are silent but this one is LOUD and very annoying. Is this normal?

Hello Wendlle. Sorry to hear you have a loud canister filter. I'm sure you'll get some responses from members that also have this same type. Too, you can check the "reviews" section and see if there is any information there that might help you. http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/fish-tank-filters/
Have a good weekend!

Based on information I got from this forum I purchased an Ehiem 2215 Classic canister filter for my 55 gal tank. I must admit I have to touch it now and then to make sure it's still running, that's how quiet it is.
