I bought an aquaclear 50 that rattled so i returned it and got another one. the new one makes a rattling noise as well. i have taken it apart and the impeller is not cracked or broken. you can push it up and down about half a centimeter though. is that normal?

Yes, it is. You can push the impellar on my AquaTech 5-15 up or down a centimeter or so.

I took it back to where i bought it and they had a man there who repairs filters look at mine. he showed me how to prime it and hooked it up and there was no noise at all. then i took it home and hooked it up and now there is noise. they wont take it back unless they can see or hear the problem.
