i had a used fluval 104 and upgraded to a used fluval 304. it seems to be working great....but its got a grindy noise. i checked and the impeller is clear and seated correctly. does the impeller need to be replaced? cant think of what else would make the noise

Hello Coffeebean. I don't have the type of filter mentioned but are you sure it isn't just air inside the filter making the noise? I do have a Marineland HOT filter (canister) and I always fill it full prior to using it on my tank.
I hope you find a solution soon. Let's see what other members say that actually have the same type of filter.
