Hey guys I'm working on picking up a slightly used fluvel 305 for my big tank. The guy bought it and set it up then decided that it wasn't quite what he was looking for. Anyway how could I sterilize this before setting it up on my tank?

I would think that if you just washed everything (not the media of course) with a 1:20 bleach solution, then rinsing real well in dechlorinated water (with a larger dose of decholinator than when adding new water) you should be good.

Wash it out in your sink/tub with only hot water. You can use bleach as suggested, its up to you.

Unecesary to sterilize it. Just take some tap water and scrub it a bit.
