long/divided into 5. aquaclear20 enough?

**i also asked this in the betta section in my 'making a better home' thread. but felt that it would be more appropriate to direct this specific question here. my first attempt to divide a tank.

in an effort to save a few dollars and to minimize the whirlpool in one of the sections. i opted to purchase the Aqua clear 20 as opposed to 30. now i am second guessing my decision. should i exchange the aquaclear 20 for the aquaclear30? or is the 20 sufficient enough to filter the entire tank.

also, should i place the filter in the center section?

hmm... i would place the filter on one end that way you can create a kind of current, but then again it cant be too strong for the bettas. If you have the 30 you would have better filtration than if you had the 20. The more capacity on the filter, the cleaner the water

Good morning. As long as the fish are not being forced around the tank by the current I would recommend the AC 30 as well. The more filtration the better. Hope you can send some pictures our way if you have the means.

If you would be so kind as to fill out your aquarium information in your profile, it will help others to help you more Take care and have fun!

In my divided tank (divided 3 ways) I'm running 2 filters, one on each side, and an airstone in the middle seciton to keep the water moving. That's what I'd suggest personally, to be sure that their was enough current. Maybe you could go: airstone, filter, airstone, filter, airstone. That's just what I would do

thanks all for the input. ill go exchange the 20 for the 30. i also have two mini internal filters laying around. 1-3 gal? what if i put the Aquaclear in the middle and have the two little filters on the end. would that help. or maybe maybe aquaclear on a side and the two mini staggered through the tank. i don't have a job right now so money is an issue while i'm making this tank.

aquarist, i don't have any aquarium information. my first real attempt at an aquarium.

I think that's a great idea I'd put the Aquaclear in the middle personally... maybe I just like symmetry
