Whisper micro filter or red sea nano filter?

Which one do you suggest I get for my 4 gallon tank to house my female betta in?
I have already gone through 2 red sea nano filters. The first one I returned because I got water on the electric cord by accident and it was still within 30 days of my reciept, so I said what the heck and exchanged it for a new one.
My first one was perfect...but now the one I have makes a very noticable vibrating noise and this tank/filter is in my room and I need one thats going to be very quiet. The first nano I had only made a slight humming noise and that was perfect.

I had a Red Sea Nano filter on a 3 gallon tank a few years ago, and never had any problems with it. I upgraded to a 6 gallon, and now have an Aquaclear 20 on it. I love the filter, it does a great job. It has adjustable flow which is nice. However, it might be overkill in a 4 gallon. Your betta might not like the current, even with the flow turned down. I've never used a Whisper filter, so I can't comment on it. I have heard of people using sponge filters with betas, which don't produce much current.

One of my Red Sea's used to vibrate occasionally. The sound you are hearing is likely coming from the lid not setting just perfectly. A quick light tap on the cover should stop it.

Other than that, they really shouldn't be noisy, so if the sound is coming from the pump itself, than maybe you want to look into exchanging that one.

I've run into that problem with the whisper filters on my mini bows. One was quiet the other vibrated. Turns out part of the noisy one was sitting flush against the tank side. A little playing with position solved it.
