The title pretty much says is all. I hear about a lot of people using the critter keepers as bettas tanks, but I was wondering how to make a sponge filter for one.

Think of it as a big bacteria bed which does some mechanical filtration.
All it is is a sponge with an airstone down in it to move the water through the sponge.

Yeah, but how is that filtering the water? Just an airstone in some sponge?
