Is this a good filter

What is your thoughts on the Aquaclear 110. Is that a good filter and would that work good for my 55 gal cichlid tank with a big bio load. Thanks

500 GPH. One would work great for a 55 gallon tank. We use the AC 110 with a Rena XP2 for a 75 gallon tank and it's an excellent product.

I have:
2 AC110s on my 75G,
1 AC110 and Rena XP4 on my 90G and
2 AC70s on my 40G.
I really like them.

Actually, for a long time I ran 2 AC110s on my 90G (no canister) and they did great.
But the rainbows are big now and eat like pigs, so...

Don't be afraid to add a second AC110 to your 55G if you have large fish or your tank is heavily stocked.
You can alternate cleaning them (1 every 2 wks) and lessen the chance of messing up your bio.

Hello! The Aqua Clear (AC) 110 will be just fine for your 55g. I have them also. When it comes to filtration you want your gallons per hour (gph) to be 8 to 10 x the tank volume so you'll be fine
