For $25 I bought a Fluval 403 canister filter, 29-30g Tank,light canopy and stand from a friend.

Now what?

• I have no ...
• spray/intake unit
• canister tubing for water flow
• shut off valves for filter maintenance
• heater

Kind of in limbo at the moment. I have not found the plumbing parts I want/need and trying to decide if the canister filter is worth it. I have new o-rings for the impeller and canister as well as enough filter media (sponge, carbon, ceramic rings.

Not sure what size hose I need as the 5/8 vinyl tubing from lowes has too thick a wall to fir the housing on the canister... The hose is my main issue but i am also lacking spray/intake bulk heads to start cycing water and seeing if my filter actually runs. From the dust you can see it has been sitting for a while.

I didn't see the intake tube or output nozzle (or spray bar), but I'm guessing that the ones from the newer models may fit. If you've checked the prices of the 405 (newer model), I think you'll say it's worth fixing, LOL. You got a crazy cheap deal on that tank and equipment!
