It should do fine. It's very quiet and pretty easy to clean.
Just rinse out the sponges and swish the bio balls and ceramic rings (purchased separately) in tank water.
I rinse mine every 1.5 - 2 months, depending on return flow, and clean the impellor area every 4-6 months.
The only issue, for me, is I worry about getting the top back on after cleaning and it not leaking.
That was my main concern with using canisters after reading horror stories about canisters in general.
I just test it by tipping it to see if it will leak before hooking it back up.
If it leaks or drips, then I remove the top, wipe the gasket areas and put a
very light coat of vasonline on the gaskets.
If you over stock your fish and/or feed heavily, you might consider adding a
HOB for a little extra filtration, if you find it necessary.
