Gallons per Hour Question

Ok, so I'm going to be setting up a 125g tank with a 20g sump. That's a total of 145g. I am trying to figure out what water pump I should buy. I'm not sure how many times I should rotate the water per hour based on gallons per hour.. I'm thinking maybe 5 times an hour? so a pump rated for.. 725GPH?

also depending on whether or not the water flows down fast enough (from my tank to my sump) I might have to get another pump to pump water down. or not? I'm not sure if this is ever done.. anyone know? Also do you know if these kind of pumps will automatically turn off when they start running dry..?

Any info on water pumps is helpful! Thanks!
Open to any other ideas:]

That's a decent guideline for HOB filters where the water can bypass the media, but for more efficient filtration systems it's more than strictly necessary.

I like a 5x turnover rate for canister filters, but I'm clueless on sumps.
