Help? What would be the Best Canister Filter

Need some help from the experts what would be the best canister filter for a 55g tank with just 1 breeding pair of Jack Dempsey's. I will be setting this tank up soon any help would be great.I will have to move them from a 135g because of the Oscars.

Thanks for any help.

i recently bough a JBJ Reaction canister filter, its set up in a 55g. i cant say to much about it since the tank isnt even cycled yet, but i can tell you that it is absolutely silent and has lots of room for media. it comes with a nozzle and a spray bar so you have options on the output, i believe some canisters only come with one or the other. another nice feature (to me) is that it has a built in UV water sterilizer.

the only thing i have found that is bad about it so far is the hoses are very stiff.

Thanks just checked out the JBJ Reaction canister filter looks like a good filter. This is what I have on my 135g Eheim Pro 2229 wet/dry,Magnum 350,Odyssea 4,and a Lifegard Mechanical Filter that runs about 10hrs a day on and off and the tank is doing fine maybe overkill but have not had any problems with the tank all readings are 0 but do not have the room for this set up in the 55g looking for something that will do the same thing in the 55g could be to much to ask for.

The Marineland c220 or the next one up. I have a c220 on my new 29 gallon but its rated for up to 55. The thing is silent, my whisper air pump makes more noise. I picked the c220 due to its near 0 bypass. Its all personal taste though as there are other really great canisters out there. I would say shop around or read up a bit online and see what filter has the right features you want at the right price.
