Eheim 2026 Pro II came in yesterday:

Got it set up and running last night. The thing is a beast of a filter and it was the smaller version of that series! It came packed with mech and bio media already so that was sweet. It also came with a spraybar. Total cost for it was $199 I think. The outflow is pretty darn strong. I may have to go and drill a fe 1/8" holes in the spray bar to lessen the pressure a bit. It was a BREEZE to setup, even though the instruction booklet is done german first and I had do dig for the english directions, flipping over them several times. The priming was the only thing that was an issue. The screw on cap on top of the intake wasn't fastened down all the way like it was supposed to be and I thought it was. Fixed that and the problems were solved.

I am VERY happy with this purchase. You don't even hear the thing except for the water from the spraybar coming out if the water level dips down.

Glad to hear that your filter was delivered yesterday! I hear they are nice and quiet. Thats great. Have you thought about using a control valve for your water flow instead of making a hole in the hose? I know that it is used from the air hose attached to air pumps to air stones/bubblers etc. Can it be used in your case?

I COULD do that, but I don't want to restrict the actual flow, just the pressure coming out of the spray bar holes, if that makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion though, I had thought about it at one point last night

As long as that radiation doesn't turn you in to she-hulk, it's ok ;p

Another congrats on your filter. They are the best. I will give you another idea on the spray bars. Just add another spray bar connected with a small piece of hose that is what I did with my Eheim 2226 it works great.

2013? Its an Antique!!! lol
Those Eheim do last, dont they? Had few 20 series but most of what have in Garage is 22 Series.
I still say Eheim is the best quality. Next to it is Rena in my book.

LOL actually it's only about 6 months old they are still selling them...I got a good deal on a new one, and it's a nice size for my little tank.

Quiet as a dream though, well considered design, all around great product IMO. And I understand the new Pro series ones are even easier to use.
