Back flow?

I've got an aquatech filter on my 5 hex and a few days ago I shuffled a few tanks around. I rescaped it and moved Nighthawk into it. (Male CT betta).
However the filter was producing too much flow and if he got caught in it would throw him down to the gravel.
Since I can't find a way to adujst the flow I added a piece of filter fiber in the output and it works great. But now I've got water running back into the tank of the top intank. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had that problem once too, you might try putting a little less filter floss in the back. Or shoving it down further.

apparently lifting the intake tube up is how you adjust the flow. I didn't even think of that I just did it my accident.

it was a blonde moment. A sign that the reading week break is almost here.

close off a portion of the intake itself. You can use a piece of a plastic fish bag(or something similar) and rubber band it to the intake grid to cut down on the water intake and thus cut down the total water movement in the aquarium.
