This is a ToM Mini-Canister. I guess you get what you pay for with it. It is handy, silent, but I am not sure about its useful life. I got one out of curiosity. I had to "jump start" by the old mouth-siphon method.
I'm using one as back up filtration for my 29g bow tank, where I have
DIY CO2 and a dual sponge filter as the main unit. I used it first in my
betta Sorority project (when they were packed in a 10gal). I read mixed reviews about it. The actual flow in
GPH might be lower than stated, nevertheless, I had to use some plastic hose adaptations to interconect the in-let and out-put plastic flexible hoses. Easy to maintain. Easy to get a hose detached and get a water spill as well (I had one already).
As far as filtration, it seems to do the work, as my readings suggest but I haven't used this unit as the sole filtration system though.
