How to remove juwel filter?

Hi I was just wondering does anybody know a way to remove the juwel filter that comes with the tank? I don't use that filter and tried to remove it before I filled the tank but it was pretty firmly glued onto the glass and I was worried i'd shatter the tank if I was persistant.
I gave up and left it empty of filter media so it is just the plastic casing, which my loach uses as a cave occasionally so I didn't really have a problem with it but I found out today where 2 of my endlers disappeared to - they got themselves wedged in the tiny gap between filter casing and glass. So would really prefer it out before anymore of my endlers die.

Any suggestions?
If its not possible i'll try block the gaps but wanted to check if anyone figured out how to remove it safely first

I believe you will need to empty the tank and use some solvents (e.g, acetone) to remove it carefully. I believe they are super-glued to the glass.

Other than that, you could place a simple airstone and stuff some sponge or filter floss in there to improve your biological filtration. Maybe cover the gaps with small pieces of sponge?

hmm i'd have nowhere to put the fish while it'd be empty, I guess I'll try stuff the sides to keep any more from getting stuck, thanks for that idea
