Filter for a 29G Tank

Im thinking about upgrading my filter. And I'm trying to decide which model is best. I'm already thinking of upping from 150gph to 200gph. But I am unsure of which filter to go with. I think I've narrowed it down to Aquaclear and Bio-wheel HOB...but I'm open for suggestions. Any ideas on which is best? or if there is a better one out there?

My vote is for the Aquaclear. You can use any type of media of your choosing.

I have a Whisper EX20, an Aquaclear 20 and an Eheim canister for my 65G...For my 20G I must say that I'll be throwing the Whisper out as soon as the Aquaclear is seeded...2 months in and the Whisper is making cranking noises (even though I regularly maintain it) :S

the bio wheel is just a selling feature, in my experience with them they seize to turn. plenty of BB (beneficial bacteria) grows in the other filter media. depending on what kind of fish you have and how stocked your tank is I would go with an aqua clear 50 or aqua clear 70 power filter. -fishlover78

Try to take the inpeller assembly out. If magnet is detached, use CrazyGlue to attach and let it dry. Should work fine.

we have all had different experiences with different filters. the strain on the filter from the fish also varies, so a filter in a goldfish tank is easily filled with gunk hence, it could function lower than one in a guppie tank that doesn't have much strain on it, I say whispers and aqua clears are the best. -fishlover78
