can I sink this power head?

I wanted to know if I can sink an aqua clear power head and not use the aerating feature, can I? I wanted to know if I could put one on the bottom of a tank, the tank would only be 12" deep so its a shallow tank. If I do sink this power head is there anything special I need to know about it? please respond, your input would be greatly appreciated! -fishlover78

Yes you can sink it,but they are designed to be placed on tubes, like an undergravel filter tube. You don't have to use the aeration stem that comes with it,just leave it off.

What are you using it for?

to keep the circulation going in the tank, could I put a sponge pre-filter sponge on the intake part? It's a 33 gallon long tank and it would be stocked with two blood parrots. thanks SOF!

You can use a pre-filter sponge over the intake, with no problem. It's good to place it about 3 inches from the surface of the water. If you put it close to the bottom,it will more than likely stir up the garbage on the sand or gravel.
