My filter is making a really loud noise almost like a grinding it a marineland bio wheel 200 help make it stop I can't sleep

Pull the impeller housing out,and make sure there's no gravel or anything inside it. The impellar housing is in the U part of the tube on the bottom (back side of intake tube)

How loud? Is it like a real grinding sound, or just a buzzing sort of noise?

Make sure the water flow is open all the way (my biowheel would "grind" if I had the waterflow turned to half or less).
Is there water pouring out of the output? If not, it may just need to be re-primed.

no everything was fine i did all that but it still grinds so im just going to buy a new tetra fin EX whisper filter

You don't have to buy a new filter, you can buy just a new impeller for your existing filter and that will take care of it. I have had to do that a couple times over the past 10 years with my Penguin 330s. You can buy them on Big Al's Online.

yea but every thing looked like it was working and the grinding noise was still there so im going to try my luck with this Tetra Fin
