Sounds from Sump?

I just got a new 125g with a sump. I've never had this kind of filtration before, so I'm not too sure about the mechanics of it. It will be quiet for a while, then make a gurgling noise every few seconds. Is this normal or should I change something?

Thanks!

Sounds like the sound is coming from the stand pipe.
Can you post a pic of how the water leaves the tank?

Which part? The top where it drops down or the sump itself where the pipes put the water through the sponge?

You may have some air trapped somewhere.

Check the inverted U shaped rigid tube connecting both boxes of the overflow. Maybe you placed the U shaped incorrectly, the shortest side needs to be in the box inside the tank while the longest end goes in the outer box, where the sponge is.

Also check your powerhead or water pump, if due to evaporation the sump water level goes down too much, your powerhead or water pump may be pushing some air through the outlet hose.

My Wet/Dry sump is as quiet as it can be. I need to open the cabinet doors and get my head in to hear the powerhead or the dripping water hitting the fiber at the intake tray when doing maintenance.

What brand and model of Wet/Dry sump filter do you have?

PS upload some pics of your Oscars!

At the top where it flows from the tank, there should be a pipe that the water flow into, and then goes down to the sump.

Thanks for your replies! I took pictures of everything so you can get a look. The guys who delivered it set it up for me, so I'm not too sure about the mechanics of any of it.

I called them up and they said to try unplugging it and plugging it back in, but that didn't do anything.
