Where to place inlet tubes

I have a new 34 gallon tank (18 inches deep), I'm running 2 filter Aquaclear (150/30) and Aquaclear (300/70).

Right now:

I'm using the tube that came with the 150, so it sits about 6 inches from the top.

I've added an extension to the 300, so it sits about 4 inches from the bottom. Normally it would be about 8 inches from the top (about the middle of the tank)

I think this is too low.

Is ok if they both are drawing water from the top half of the tank?

I think it should be alright, as long as there is good water movement happening.

Hi rjesse, grats on your new tank!

I think it would be more effective if the intake tube be somewhere from the low/middle area of the tank for more water conversion: "old" water from the bottom, then the filtered "new" water from the top.

cheers,

I Completely Agree With Pam.
