hi i have a fluval venzia tank which has the fluval 405 external running up through the cabinet into the tank. i think my fish are getting sucked in i put in zebra danios to cycle but there going missing. how do i open up the filter without getting all the water from the tank on the floor.

there is supposed to be a stop thing on the wires to stop water from coming out when you are changing the filter media.

i hope someone answers your question bc i too need to know how to do this. i had tried to turn the power off and open the lid and water started spraying out. i need to change the media in some of my baskets and dont know how to get it open. i think it says something about putting a drain tube on it towards the bottom but im not even sure how to do that! my hoses arent long enough to even take it all the way out from underneath the cabinet neither.
