70 gal tank

I have too many openings on the current hood, so i would like to get a new one. Any ideas for online stores that supply quality hoods?

What type of filter system should i get for a 70 gallon tank?

Did you check aquariumguys.com? I have never ordered anything from there, so I don't know how good they are. I have noticed that their canister filter prices for the ones we are look at are better than petsmart.

For the filter question I don't have much advice. We are looking into a Rena filstar XP3 for our 90 gallon, but we are still checking it out. We have a emperor 400 and a magnum hang on the back canister right now, but they are what came with the tank.

Depends on what you mean by hood. Do you want a glass lid and seperate lighting fixture, or are you looking for an all-in-one lid/lighting fixture combo?

The biggest you can afford On a tank that size, I'd definitely look into a canister filter, as they often hold far more media for your bacteria to grow on.

Canister filter is going to be more effective, but also kind of expensive. You can also go with a couple of HOB filters (or even one big one), or a number of powerheads with sponge filters on them.
