Hello,
My two young angelfish in my 55 gallon have turned out to be a MATING pair. I am evacuating the tank (just as it's under contruction I might add) of all it's inhabitants which will be moved to an extra tank for the time being except for the angels.
Obviously the next move would be to ensure the fry will not get sucked into the filter intake. It's being filtered with both a Magnum 350
canister filter (had a Rena xP3, but had issues with my particular unit and then wanted a c-360 but couldn't afford it so I got this and filled it with Ehfimech instead of carbon) and an AquaClear 70 power filter. Now I can easily find a guard for the AquaClear but what I'm having trouble finding is a prefilter for the Magnum and was hoping someone could help me with that.
In case no one is aware, the intake is long and has the exact same big odd shaped strainer at the end that the Bio-Wheel/Emperor filters do so of course I'm having trouble finding a prefilter big enough to slip on over it. I'd rather not use fish netting and rubber bands but I will if I have no other choice...
