So my tank finally came, but now I find that the HOB is too big for the spot I was gonna put it and makes it hang over the edge.

So, I'm thinking about investing in an Internal Filter. My tank is a lil less than a 10 gal tank (it's a book shelf aquarium. dimensions add up to around a 9.5 gal).

I've read some reviews online and people have said that it works great with gold fish, etc, but I'd rather err on the side of caution and ask on here...

Has anybody ever had experience with solely using an internal filter before, and does anybody think the Mini would do?

I have this one in a 5g with my betta and I really like it. the flow rate can even be adjusted.

i was lookin at that one too! i'm wondering tho, are they hard to clean/change? thats what i've been reading with some of the reviews. also how often do u clean/change ur filter media and stuff with it? i'm kinda new to this whole fish thing, so are there any kind of faults or pet peeves u've had with it as well?

Welcome I wore the first filter cartridge out (rinse once a week in used tank water) now I keep floss stuffed in it. When I want to clean the inside I just unplug and submerge the whole thing in a bucket of used tank water and swish, return to the tank plug it up and stuff with floss. i wouldn't use it for anything bigger than a 10g but for the bettas 5g it's perfect and doesn't swish him all over the tank
