Filters for 30 gal

Would a power filter made to support 30 gal as well as an undergravel filter provide enough filtration to a slightly overstocked 30 gal tank? I realize that slightly overstocking will require more frequent water changes, but I wanted to make sure that the filtration level will also be adequate.

It should be fine, especially if your UGF is powered by powerheads.
As long as you keep up on water changes, a slightly overstocked tank would likely do well even without the UGF.

Your readings will tell you if your arrangement works well or not. In slightly-overstocked tanks -keeping the term slightly out of the moderate range- I use multiple filters, aiming at 10 times volume of water per hour flow in HOB, or 6 times if Wet/Dry sump or Canister.

Filtration in that range would allow you to do maintenance as if it were not overstocked at all. It is the substrate vacuum that you should not skip. I would consider using the UGF with inverted flow, so most of the solid waste is caught by the other filter.
