DIY easy home made aquarium bio filter

Just thought I'd share this simple and easy to make(and cheap) aquarium filter I made.

It can be used as a bio filter, or a small refugium.

Thanks

Yea I did it basically because I didn't feel like spending $100+ on a canister filter. This basically does the exact same thing as a canister, just much cheaper.

Other people who saw the idea thought it was a great to way to add a small refugium onto their tank. For SW mainly for a cheato algae refugium.

I might make one for my spare tank. Your idea doesn't take up much space and is not complicated. Thanks.

I am glad you are going to copy my idea. I hope many other people do the same. Especially those with only hang on back filters, and especially those that don't even have bio wheels. This is a great cheap way to add much bio-filtration.

I initially added this filter when I noticed my ammonia and nitrites in my amphibian tank sometimes rose to very low levels. After the addition of this filter, my ammonia and nitrites haven't again raised to any level, they are down to 0 and have stayed there.
