Would it work good?!

Hey guys, I just recently just set up a 30 gallon tank for African Cichlids and 2 plecos...
My question is if this is a good filtration setup. I have one Marineland Penguin 200 power filter and a Marineland H.O.T. Magnum canister filter. Since in the Penguin 200 I have two filter cartriges with the carbon in, I put the quick clean micron wate polisher in the H.O.T. Magnum Canister Fliter.

Let me know what you guys think about this setup. Thanks in advance

Usually you don't want to mix species from other countries, let along continents. They all have different needs and requirements. Depending on the Cichlids you have, they can be very aggressive to any of the fish including the other Cichlids and can get very territorial during breeding but they don't have to have a reason to get territorial. And depending on the pleco you have, 30Gal won't be big enough unless you plan to upgrade as they grow. With our Cichlids, anything that moves and fits into its mouth or close to it is food.

It looks like you have enough filtration but the charcoal is not required unless you are willing to change it out every couple weeks and maybe even more depending how "dirty" the fish are. I would be more concerned about trying to meet all the requirements and needs for all the livestock in your tank though.

Good Luck and hope this little bit helps. I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable people will come in shortly. BTW, Welcome to Fishlore!
