a couple of days ago, my filter was blowing little bubbles occasionally. i clean it out on sunday, but it was still doing it. today when i got home it was making a cranking kind of noise. i turned it off and tried to get it back on again and it wouldn't work. there is no water movement. i tried to prime it and it still isn't working. is there anything i can do?

Have you tried taking the propeller out of the pump to clean it out with a q-tip? It might have sand in it if it is making a cranking noise. Other than that I would take it back or contact the people you got it from. In my experience the propellor is the most common part to go bad. If it is even slightly off balance for whatever reason, the pump wont work.
