filter? huh?

Yes bad title.
I've never really had to worry about a filter before so any advice for the know nothing newbi, good links, anything? Noise is a bit of an issue so what would the quietest type of filter be?
Sorry for bothering you all again.

I use Aquaclear brand filter, and it's very quiet.
They're not usually to expensive either.

I also run HOB AquaClear (50, 70, 110) filters, they are, in my opinion, very quiet.

how quiet is "quiet"? there's living room quiet, and then there's bedroom quiet...what is it?

Definatley bedroom quiet.
I have three tanks in my bedroom, and all of them run HOB Aquaclear filters.

I love the aquaclear filter...it is very quiet and very efficient. I like the fact that you don't have to buy all in one cartridges for them to. If it gets noisy it is like a water trickle sound that can be annoying ...that is the cue to fill the tank up...lol low water level will give you a waterfall sound . These in my opinion are the BEST filters at a lower price....never had a expensive filter so can't rate against them.

All my tanks are in the living room and in my studio/office at home. Tanks in my room... as when I was a kid... Never gave serious thought to that during all this time! Just found more room for more tanks!*

Thank you Red1313 for starting this thread, and Bettagirl92 for the idea.

*since I will be moving in a couple of months I might not be able to do it yet, but wait till I move!
