Filter recommendation?

The same way the Hydor Theo and Visi-Therm Stealth are unanimously seen as the best brands of heaters, what are the best filters?

The only thing I know is Azoo/Red Sea Nano is generally seen as the best for small tanks, but what about 10g+ tanks?

Welcome to Fishlore. Penquin/Marineland and Aqua-Clear are a couple of the more popular filters and we have been putting penquin bio-wheel filters on our tanks lately.

Penguin/Emperor Bio Wheels,Aqua Clear,and Fluval,.......IMO

For a 10 gallon I would get a Penguin 150.

I personally prefer aquaclear. I have an Aquaclear 20 on my 10g goldfish tank (one fish), and an Aquaclear 30 on my 20H. Both work great.

I use just the sponge on the bottom, and then stuff the rest of the filter box with bio media.

I haven't used bio-wheel type filters, but I definitely do NOT recommend whisper types. The media clogs up too fast and there isn't enough space for bio media.
