Reverse Osmosis

Here is the question...does anyone know of an alternative to putting a permanant RO filter in my house? My problems are 1) I've never used RO and am not sure what I am doing with it. (I understand the concept and how it works, just not some of the details) 2) does it need to be permanantly attached to my sink? 3) Do I have to have a resevoir for the water to drain into? (since my tanks are really no where near a faucet) 4) are there alternatives to RO for getting soft neutral water (My tap water is fairly hard and fairly basic(will get exact numbers when I get home)). The end goal is for an apisto tank, and since I am going to spend the money to stock it, I want them in the best conditions possible. I know that most of them will be OK in the water as it is, but if I can do better than OK I'd like to give that a go. Thoughts??

Hi Hazcop,

I found these but I am unsure if they will help.

From what I understand from reading the above, you can use bucket so it doesn't attach permanently to yr sink. Use a super long tube.

Instead of a reservoir, you can use a bucket. It depends on how much RO water is produced.

Rain water is soft. Do u have a rainwater tank?

I really don't know much abt RO. DOn;t just take my word for it.
Its best u make time to read the articles and comprehend how it works.

All the Best.
