Worms in filter

Hi all,
I didn't know where to post this question. But here goes. I just took out one of the filters from my 60g ( am running 2 Aquarclear filters) I maintain my tank regularly. It wasn't that long ago that I clean the filters in this tank. But I just took out one of the filters to clean and it was full of worms. I first thought that I was over feeding blood worms. But when I took a closer look the worms are alive.
What are they and are they harmful?

Could be planaria or maybe even live bloodworms.

They look like bloodworms. That's what I thought they were when I first saw them, but some were moving. I cleaned out the filter, I will check the other filter in a few days. (As I usually only clean one at a time)

i've seen similar types of worms in various tanks before as well. they don't appear to be harmful though.

i take it you feed frozen bloodworms then, if so it takes them out of the picture. are they white in colour, if so i may have seen them in another thread somewhere, i think they turned out to be some kind of larve.

if they're small and white, they're probably knat or fruit fly larvae. they show up in my tanks occasionally, though the fish usually eat them without delay. yum.

I also had a full population of adult red wrigglers growing in my hydroponic reservoir once. I was (and still am) baffled because they were completely submerged in fertilizer water.
