UGF and HOB? crazy?

So I was looking @ prices earlier today @ the LFS (Elmers Aquarium), and I noticed when they were selling their "Aquarium Starter Packages," they had the following:

-Fluorescent Bulb w/ Hood
-AquaClear Power Filter
-Submergible Power Head
-Heater
-The tank (duh! lol)
-Perfecto UGF
-Gravel
-Digital Thermometer
-Handbook (Actually something that surprised me about them.. they have these handbooks that talk about the nitrogen cycle and lots of stuff)
-NovaAqua Water Conditioner
-BioSpira
-Net
-1yr Equipment Warranty
-$5 gift certificate for any fish in the store

They wanted all this for $562.71 (75 gal.)

What struck me as odd, though, was that they were using both an HOB and a UGF.

So my ? is... is there any benefit to this? Or is just stupid to have both? They are the only LFS that I trust (they are very through with everything, and I can honestly say that i'm not talking to idiots when I go there.. most, if not all, are avid fish-keepers who would be the type to visit sites like here..), and so i'm just curious if they have a "method to this madness."

If it were me I would see if I could get a credit for that UGF and let them keep it. Also make sure the HOB unit can pump enough GPH. 75 is a big tank.

Does it come with a stand as well? That is a lot of weight to put on something not made for a fish tank that size.

good idea asking on about the credit. I'll see what they say.

The HOB is an AquaClear 110 @ 500 GPH

I can get it with a stand, but i'll also post pics up of where I was going to put it... I know that it will weigh a ton, but i'm pretty confident that where I am looking to place it can hold it.. but again i'll post pics up later on today...

Or you might consider a reverse flow power head for the UGF. I'm running that setup in a couple of tanks. The idea is the reverse flow "blows" debris out of the gravel, to be mechanically filtered by the HOB filter. The bacteria in the gravel bed don't care which way the water flows so it can greatly increase the surface area available in your tank for biological filtering without accumulating a bunch of ditritus in the gravel.

I have also used UG filters this way,and have never had any problems, however I have recently removed them because I just do not like how they looked in my tanks.
