Hi Everyone,
First time posting, but I have been getting lots of information from this forum already.
I have a 55 gallon tank with an Emperor 280 and Emperor 400. I recently installed a Magnum 350 with a micron filter to polish the water after water changes. Is it OK to leave it hooked up and only turn it on every couple of days? Same question with a UV sterilizer.

I think you could do that since you have other filters running.

Thanks for the reply. I was worried if I turned off the filter but left it hooked up, that the gunk already inside could grow something nasty without the flow of water.

That could be a possibility, but I'm not sure on that since we haven't used any canister filters. As far as the tank goes, it would be ok though. You could just check it for signs of anything like that and see how that goes.
