Just one or Two?

I was wondering if the use of a undergravel filiter would be a good idea. I have see on videos thart bactiera is good for fish tank. I would have a power filiter and a undergravel filiter. Some people said that undergravel filiter aren't good because that keep the waste and food under the rocks and let the animaoa levels get higher. So should i just have my filiter with a bio wheel or get a undergravel system to help the baterica?

I have a 30 gallon with a penguin 330 and 200 plus an undergravel with a powerhead that has the flow reversed.
If you decide on an undergravel do not use an air pump with it,make sure to use a powerhead.I would get one that you can reverse the flow on,this allows for better filtration with the substrate, and then there is no chance of any build up under the plates.I feel by doing this this allows for a larger bio filter.I have other tanks, but the 30 is the only one with an undergravel.

We prefer the HOB filters with Bio-wheels, and don't use UGFs.

I used to have an undergravel filter in a small hex tank, simply because the size and shape made it awkward to keep any other sort of filter. I've found that it is harder to clean, as waste collects in the gravel, and tends to mess the water (and upset the fish) when you try and clean it or take it out. I'd stay away from UGFs if you can...
