HI FISHYFACE, WELCOME TO FISHLORE !

Use either a sponge or a mesh net tied securely. Clean them weekly to assure good water flow.

What kind of shrimp?

Shrimp need really clean water, in a fully cycled tank with 0 ammonia and nitrite, and nitrates closer to 5 than 10......I wish you well, and if you have any questions feel free ......oh by the way, we LOVE pictures!

Welcome to Fishlore.

Will they have a tank to themselves? If so, how big of a tank will they be in? If it's the 20g, you'll want the UGF out. You might want to get 2 or more of these:

The Bio-Filter 5 model. They do a pretty good job and get lots of bacteria.. and if you had even 4 or 5 in the tank, that shouldn't be a problem. I find the shrimp love hanging out on the sponges - they learn the food comes to them.
