Noisy BioWheel Filter

I've got a problem with a noisy BioWheel filter. It's not the wheel that's making noise. It's the fact that the output isn't spout-shaped. It's blocked off, so that, unlike with the Whispers, the waterfall doesn't hit in a steady, quiet, stream, it hits in a scatter of very noisy droplets.

Anybody else have an issue with this?

Better yet, anybody come up with a good solution?

Great, so I get to add about four gallons of water a day. My house has really dry air, and that's about how much water I lose from the tank in a given day.

Edit: Thanks for the help. I'm just ticked at Marineland or whoever made it for not making the thing a spout like Tetra does with their Whisper filters.

We have a real dry climate here in Denver & find that a room humidifier helps.. the tanks and us.

i find it a good thing for dry air i'd rather add water to the tank then a humidifier. just over fill it haha. i put a gallon in a every other day if not 2 or 3 gallons and that is with a glass top to the tank too!
