Question on Powerheads???

I recently bought a 75 gal tank that I plan on using for a freshwater tank. I will be using an aqua clear power filter 300/70 and am looking for the right size power heads for the undergravles filter. I'd like to stick with aqua clear and was wondering if anyone knew what would be the appropriate GPH or Model aqua clear for this size tank

Thanks!

You are talking about the Aquaclear HOB filter?

The 70 turns over 300 gallons per hour, the 110 / 500 gph, since the rule of thumb for HOB filters is 10 x tank size in gallons per hour, I would say 2 of the Aquaclear 70's would be close. That would also keep you from having "dead" spots in your tank.

If you are using UGF in addition, you would want a power head on at least one of the tubes, but that should be sufficient, and it doesn't have to be super powerful....with the HOB in addition.

Yeah to clarify, I have an aquaclear 70 HOB filter that' I'm running as well as an UGF powered by air. I'd like to get 1 maybe 2 power heads for the risers on the UGF and would like to stick with aquaclear. So I am wondering what model powerhead I should go with and how many so that I have the optimal GPH flow and not too much current. The fish I am keeping don't want too much current. Thanks for the help!
