How High For Enough Oxygenation?

I have an Aquaclear 20 (Hang On) filter for my 10 gallon tank, and was wondering how high the water "ramp" should be above the water in my tank to provide enough filtration for a tank that is exactly stocked (thinking about 5 2" tetras). Thanks In advance!

In a 10 gallon tank I would put as much water in as you can comfortably fit. Don't worry about a waterfall effect from your filter. If you want to get an air pump and air stone, that is another way to do it, and most fish will enjoy the bubbles.

Your tank will also need 25-50% water changes every week, which will help to replenish the available oxygen. Plants in the tank also help. They eat CO2 which the fish put off, and release oxygen the fish need. They also help to eliminate nitrate from the water. A win/win all the way around.

when having plants you need to groome the dead stuff off of them b/c they will release alot of nitrates from them breaking down. just one suggestion if you have plans... i found if i didnt keep up with that every few days my levels would be high.

I'd agree with sustina-flower in filling the tank to the line and using an aeration device like an airstone or bubble wand to provide bubbles. The filtration really is the same.
