I bought the Ehiem canister and I LOVE IT! However, I don't like the piece of crap hang on that came w/ our tank its the tetra brand thing.... I am looking at a penguin bio-wheel and I was going to put on my tank (its a 55g) for the size of a 75g tank since we have a cichlid tank and they are nasty buggers when they get bigger....
The other hang on we are looking at is a marineland empeor and honestly I was more impressed w/ the marienlands gph output!

What do you all prefer out of the 2? If you had your pick of hang on filters? We already have a ehiem that is made for up to a 125g tank on there... we just want superfilitration for the cichlids.... honestly if I like either of these brands after I buy one I will replace all of my tanks filters w/ these brands... my tanks all need new filters...(smaller tanks)

I really like both and we've got a few of the Penquins. I believe they're the same company, just different filter lines.

Thanks, if I remember there was one of them that put out more gph... I will go with that one... just for the chiclid tank....

the emporer 400 has 400gph, and and the standard penquin 350 has 350gph. i have both on a cichlid tank. my problem with the emporer is the wheels dont stay spinning all the time and the spray tubes get clogged easy i think buts just me. i also let them get dirty for longer like 3 week before i clean.
