Filter Media

Hi, I have a Fluvel 305 filter, It's a bit hard to find the filter media in shop's. So i thought i could use diffrent media from other filter makes cos they all work in the same way,
Will this be OK?

From what I could find on your filter, Nextstep is right, plus it is cheaper and will last longer because it comes in bigger sheets. I was going off what bigals had listed for the media they recommend for the filter. Just double up or get thicker filter pads and cut to fit. For the carbon/ammonia remover (if used) you can use pretty much any thing you want.BigAls Fluval Filter.

I don't have the same filter, but am able to do the same thing by cutting sheets of filter pad to size. Plus you can buy filter pads that have removers in them to help out anything. You could put in bio balls where the carbon would go, and just use the pads if needed.

Hope that wasn't too much rambling. Good Luck.
