Well after looking at some LARGE capacity filters. I was torn between the Eheim and the Fluval FX5. After doing some searching around and looking at my piggy bank, I found the FX5 for under $200 brand new in the box, so I had to go with this filter. And about 20 minutes ago it was delivered to my door. WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO

After looking at the box, and ripping it open like a kid on christmas, pulling it out, I was shocked at the size of the filter, but the size of my aquarium 160 gallon, it was the right fit. I will keep my existing 2 Magnum 350's running. With two Oscars, Jack Dempsey, Green Terror and pleco, I can't go wrong with adding additional filtration. Here are a few pics, and after I modify my stand/canopy, I'll post up more info

Good thing you had a chair big enough! Sounds like just the thing for your group. Now after it is running for a few days you can clean the 350's , one then a few days later the other. Don't overclean, just swish any media in discarded tank water. But it sounds like your fish are all large waste producers, so I assume the filters are in need.....

I'm really glad for you that this deal was there! Do you have to modify the stand BECAUSE of this filter? It does look like a monster!

I won't have to modify too much. Just cut some more pass-thru holes in the stand/canopy. But that will be simple, jig saws and a hole cutter on my drill is what I used when I setup the 350's. It will be another week before I clean the first rotated 350, so I will have a little time to relax

I have a question. Would it be harmful to setup something to have this filter connected to my dreaded UGF? I know I know, they are not everyones favorite, and I made that decision ill faithfully I was thinking of getting some kind of connector to connect to the UGF, then use some lift tubes to connect all of my plates together and have it run to the intake tube to the FX5....
