Strong Filter

Hey everyone,
I have a question about my filter in my 2.5 gallon minibow. IT's a whisper ( up to 10 g tank) but i had two guppy together pinky and yeller, about a month ago I couldn't find yeller, and i found him..... the filter had sucked him up. I've noticed that now when mickey and pinky go under the filter they have to swim really fast... so they don't get sucked up. I have the setting on the lowest setting, but is there anything else that i can do/
thanks!

What if you try putting some type of sponge over it? You would have to clean it once in a while, but it would at least stop them from getting sucked up the tube.

I'd recommend replacing it. One of these would not only work for the gups but would give more room in the tank:

We used them in 2.5g tanks with guppy fry, including those just dropped and even the newborns were able to swim around the filter without any trouble and none ever got sucked into the filter.

Gups are strong swimmers and I suspect that yeller may have died before getting sucked into the filter.
