i have 2 zebra danios, 2 golden danios (i thought they were male zebra danios originally doh!). they were fighting alot and one of the zebras had been injured last week, so with the advice giving to me by the people here i went out and got 2 new danios last week. this time leopard danios. they are schooling fine now and the aggression has gone in almost an instant.

but in the time of me leaving my house and coming back with 2 new danios one of my golden danios is swimming at a 30/45 degree angle i dont know if it has suddenly fallen sick or it had been injured while the fighting was still going on. i was thinking whats the best thing to do. i have left it over night and it hasnt improved. its still swimming fine just at an angle

i dont know weather to separate it form the other fish the only thing i could do would be to get a fighting fish box and put it in my tank but a fish that energetic would be suicidal in a box that small?

my danios certainly keep my life interesting!

I have 5 zebra danios in a 10 gallon tank. I got started with 2 when the tank had finished cycling and then added 3 more. The 5 have been in the tank together for a few weeks. I didn't pay any attention to whether they were male or female when I bought them, but I think I have 4 females and 1 male.
All of a sudden one of the females is chasing all of the other female fish to the point that they are all hiding. The male seems to be oblivious to this but is hovering around the tank, not really swimming around.
Is this odd behavior? I have been reading the forum and see that it is not unusual for danios to chase each other, but this seems excessive.

Thanks for the help - after thinkiing fish were easy and no prep was necessary - this forum has saved my sanity and the life of my fishies!

hey everyone, i have 4 zebra danios in a 60L/15Gal tank and they have been fine for the last few weeks up until yesterday when i noticed they had started to fin nip alittle bit i had a look at all the fish swimming around my tank and noticed one had what looked like blood down the around the gill area running down to underneath its mouth. the other 3 danios seemed to all be focusing on chasing after this one fish (female).

what should i do. add more danios would it exacerbate the situation? should i get a little box (like what people have fighting fish in) to get my seeminly injured fish away from the others.

just to add that the fish who is injuried it is swimming and feeding fine.
