My black sailfin molly passed away during the night and I have no idea why. All the other fish in the tank look fine and as of two days ago when I did my last water check all stats were normal. As I write this I am preparing to test the water again. Usually I do a water change on Sunday, but I will most likely be doing a water change today instead no matter the results of the water tests.

I only had him for two weeks, so perhaps he was just not as strong as the two other mollys I bought him with?

Bye bye :(

(He is in a different tank from the barbs. I always knew he was going to die, I just kept hoping maybe one day he would grow and that maybe he would make it.)

Hughie the fantail betta passed away last night at the ripe old age of 3 years. He enjoying hiding under his bridge and eating frozen brine shrimp. He will forever be missed and remembered. He is survived by 5 scissortail rasboras and 1 corydora catfish (who resided in a different tank, but were wonderful neighbors). His memorial service was held in the downstairs bathroom at 10:00 am on October 31, 2009. His owner and her closest relations were present.

His tank is being cleaned and remodeled. A new betta will be rescued in his memory.

This is actually a belated eulogy, as the tetras all passed on last week, but I've been so busy caring and worrying for the living fish with the ich...

This is actually a belated eulogy, as the tetras all passed on last week, but I've been so busy caring and worrying for the living fish with the ICH that I've just not had the motivation to say something.

The neons were, all 7 of them, vastly entertaining. They were pretty, energetic, and extremely cute. My neons were always gentle, despite the species having a reputation for being fin-biters. Two of these little guys I had for about 4 months, the rest were new. I did care for all of them, though, and was thrilled to have them even for a short time.

I take this as a lesson that sometimes things can spiral out of your control no matter what you do. I lost all 7 tetras within 24 hours of the ich showing up on their bodies. They have not been buried yet, but they will be, in the spot where all of the family pets are.

I miss their little selves, their excited feeding frenzies, and so much more. I never thought so many little fish who all looked the same could be so distinctly fun and unique. They truly were fascinating little guys, and deserved a long, happy life. Sadly, they were not given this. I hope they were happy for the few months/weeks I had them, and I hope they didn't suffer too much.

I'm sorry I couldn't save you, little guys. RIP.

This morning, I woke up to a motionless rummynose tetra in my small q tank due to the tetra disease. As said, there was no cure to it and I didn't have any clove oil and vodka to put him to sleep. It was terrifying just watching him die slowly. But today his life ended and he RIP with other fishies up there.

This thread is also a memorial for all other members who lost their tetras or fish to this terrible tetra disease. RIP
