Howdy: int eh last two days we have discovered fries in the "Momma tank" we started with one guupy fry that was born before the female died. This morning the female molly starting haveing babies and as close as we can tell of the ten she has had, she has ate. We have tried to keep this from happening, but it didn't help.

Anyone got suggestions on how to keep this from happening again?

Well at least we still have the "toddlers" ( the seven babies born 2 months ago, we started with 40)

So I have a bijillion guppy fry in my tank and today spotted 1 orange:;fg platy fry. Do you think that there was only 1 or the rest were snacks. The platies have been in the tank for about 2 months now and this is the first fry I have seen. I thought they had lots at one time. I have a lot of bushy plants that the guppy fry hide in and there are 3 batches of them.

In my tank, at the moment, i have 4 platys. 2 are male and 2 are female, technically this isn't bad, but 1 male is the father of them and is nearly two times bigger than the ladies. He teams up with the other male and chase the females endlessly. They try to hide behind the plants, but its no match for the double team. I am worried the females might get seriously hurt. What shall i do??????!????

I’m a hobbiest of fish from Taiwan , and I’m very interesting of Ameca Splenden. This species is my favorite species of Goodeid, and the other species like Xenotoca variata and Xenotoca eiseni. I have several question and hope someone could give me the answer.

1. In some web page say that the Ameca splender’s parents show no interesting in eating their young, does it mean if there are two pair of Ameca in one tank, the another parents also didn’t eat the baby which is born from another parent? If other parents will eat the young, does it has any way to avoid the young to eaten by other fish?

2. I raise up X. variata and A. splenden in my tank(90 cm X 30 cm X 45 cm) Does the two species will breed hybrid species ??if this thing may happen....whether I have to separate this two species in two tank??
To keep this two species have pure blood relationship??

thanks everyone and hope smoeone could reply my post!!
