Yay! These are my new albino corydoras. I upgraded everyone in my 12g to the 20 and added the cories about a week or so ago. They're SO much fun. They just fly across the tank non stop (sometimes they even bump into the mystery snails, pause, and then just keep going) until it's time to eat and then all of a sudden everyone's at the bottom scrounging for food. :p They're a beautiful iridescent color that doesn't come out well in the pictures. I love love love them! :happy0064:

Sorry a took a billion pictures, but they're just so flippin cute. I didn't think they would like the mollies' peas, but I guess they do! :D

Hey all, just wanted to document progress on a 55 gallon Tanganyika setup. I've always been more interested in Tangs than Malawis, but never kept any other than a 10 gallon lamprologus ocellatus setup that I sold off when I moved. I've had this 55 just sitting around for months and finally decided to do something with it! Substrate is 1/2 aragonite sand and 1/2 cichlid gravel. The rock is a bunch of Fiji rock I had that was live rock at one time but dried out. It's just base rock now. A quick rinse with the garden hose to get rid of salt creep, and it was ready to go. Filtration is one Rena XP2 and one Aquaclear 50, and an Ebo Jager 250 heater should do the trick. I've got a 2 foot 65W Current PC strip on there now for lighting, but will probably upgrade eventually when I run across a good deal on a used PC light. Planned stocklist is a shelldweller colony (undecided on species), a group of N. pulcher "daffodil", and possibly some cyprichromis. Anyway, here's how it looks after a couple days of tinkering. :)

Anyway, I've never heard of them. I'm trying to figure out if he's a powder blue or a regular DG or what. :;dk No clue.

A couple of pics of my 3ft keyhole breeding tank & the new tanks & Bettas that my kids have just gotten sorted out. They are very proud of themselves, (so am I), as they have done all of the setting up & cycling themselves. They are thier first tanks & are justifyably happy with thier results. Until now they have had to settle for having some fish in my tanks but now they are older they have caught the bug & want more involvement. I'm waiting for the "Can I have a bigger tank for christmas?":)
There's also a pic of my G/F's rainbows. M. Trifasciata & Chequered.

Here are some pics of my 75 gallon tank. In this tank i have 2 red hook silver dollars, 2 common silver dollars, 2 black bar silver dollars, & 2 bala sharks. I am happy with what i have done with it so far. I am fairly new to taking care of aquariums. I would like to get some feed back from you guys. Thanks!

Also i feel i am missing a center piece to the fish i have any suggestions? some thing with color since all of the fish are silver in color. Im open to moving the balas to make room if need be. Thanks again!!

If she's a hybrid, I'm thinking possible honduran red point. I feel safe saying that whatever she is, her 20 gallon tank is definitely big enough for her and Kahn and that's what's important.

A good comparison is the picture in my avatar. That's what she looked like shortly after I brought her home.

3 weeks ago we started with a 14g tank and while browsing the local classifieds online I saw a deal I could not pass up. I was able to pick up this 29gal tank with everything for $50. Internal Fluval Filter with extra filter pads, heater, gravel, plants, large rock, Whisper pump, lid, light, etc. The only thing I bought are the small plants and put in the glass flower. I put a large marble in the glass flower so my fish can not swim down in it.

I had to clean it out and the gravel was pretty nasty but no major hard water deposits inside the tank. You can save quit a bit of money buying used!

I started it up TSS and 3 Congo Tetras and 3 Tiger Barbs

My scissortails stay at the top of the tank all the time, except when I drop a sinking wafer in the tank. For some reason, they really love those wafers. All five of them make a beeline for the wafer and chow down.

I will try and get a video of it sometime, but the picture gives you an idea of what I am talking about.

and my other 10gall has 5 neon tetras, 1 white cloud (sole survivor after my last disaster but he is happy to hang with the neons), and a platy M and molly F who are having an illicit affair ( I fear a new species might be in the making)

My sister's fry are now big enough to see their adult colors so she is getting ready to sell them. She told me she would let me have some if I wanted, and since some of hers are shubunkin fry, I said YES! I will be trading out some of my larger orange goldfish since I brought home 10 babies. All of these are from this years spawn and the container they are in (that I used for transportation purposes only) is just over 6 inches wide and 7 - 8 inches tall (so you can figure how big the fishies are). The two biggest ones are from the first batch of eggs, and the smaller ones are from the tail end of the spawn. I think she had about 4-5 batches of eggs this summer. I am pretty excited to watch these guys grow and see how their colors do. The ones that are orange and black should keep most of the black coloring since it is on a blue base which is how the shubunkin coloring is. It is hard to tell unless you look at them up close in the sun (which I did), but it looks like all the smaller ones will keep the shubunkin colors. The two larger ones may be shubunkin goldie crosses. They have mostly orange and white markings, but they also have a couple of dark spots/streaks that look blue/black in the sun. The pics aren't the best, but I didn't want to stress them anymore the day I brought them home. I wanted to get them in the pond so they could settle in before nighttime.

So, here are a couple pics:

After a few times of visits to 3-4 different LFS, I present you my new 8 gal freshwater planted tank. Note that I used normal white gravel instead of those advanced high class expensive gravel or substrate. I didn't want to spend so much like how I did for my 55g and failed. I actually set it up a few days ago and the plants are taking their shape and looking good. But I have yet to set up my DIY Co2 diffuser, hope to be able to get it done in a few days after the silicone glue cures.

Credits: I wanna take this chance to thank those members who have helped me out, given me advice, and encouraged me to continue on with this planted tank when I nearly wanted to give up. I wouldn't have managed to do it as nice as this without you guys :;group

This is a 75 gallon aquarium that I have had for a long time. It has mostly housed fish in the past, but now I'm going to transform it to planted. I will start with low light plants and as I upgrade my equipment I'll get higher light plants.

As I get the money I will upgrade the lighting, substrate, and get pressurized co2. For now I'm dosing flourish comp. twice a week, excel twice a week and flourish trace twice a week. I will switch to dry ferts when necessary.

Here are the pics:

When I started

Changing substrate

Finished changing substrate, added a little java moss

Added another piece of driftwood from my 10 gallon and some big java ferns, more java moss, and 3 amazon swords from customdrum.

Rearranged a little and added some elodea from my 10 gallon.

So, I got some decent pics of my little crippled goldfish. Can't tell for sure if male or female yet, but I need to find a name for this little survivor. It is one of my sister's goldfish spawn that must have been damaged in the egg. It has been crippled since it hatched, but gets around just fine and eats well. It has a crooked spine and swims on it's side all the time. I was going to name it Crip, but my sister said no. No names that would make the fishie feel bad...

If you click on the pics to make them larger, it is easier to see him (her). One of the smallest of the goldies, crooked, sideways.
