Hi there.
I've noticed my lab has a darker colouring than usual to his face the last few days - on the 'chin' area if fish have chins.
I'm tackling an algae problem at the moment also, but thought this was a cosmetic thing rather than affecting the fish, so not sure if its related? Just wondering if this is normal - i've had him about 2 months

Do you have male and female labs? I had a group of lions cove yellow labs and when it was spawning time my male would get a blackish color to his chin.

no, i just have one at the moment, not sure what sex it is. colour seems to becoming and going. I'm not too worried as he'sbeen behaving normally and feeding. thanks for the reply, i appreciate having someone to come to withthese silly little concerns. I'm worse than a new mum!

I do know with the beards on the labs (some types) they do color up when mood is changed. The black beard was more noticable on mine during spawning.

Cichlids are so funny, they change color over any little thing. I am sure if its acting normal theirs nothing to worry about.
