Surprise

,
So today my wife woke me up early saying I'm not sure if you are going to get mad but you need to see this. Today was my day to wake up a little late but she woke me up. Well she told me come see the cichlid tank. So she said there is a baby fish poking every now and then from the rocks. So there he was a tiny little guy no bigger than 3/8" or 1/2". She though it was one of the ones I ordered a while ago(electric Blues) but this guy is like lite orange. Then I look over another rock and found another one and then we see a 3rd one. i knew I had a nice cichlid set up but now i'm sure of it. haha. got babies. haha.

they are super easy to breed if you have the correct ration 1m-2-4 fems....(which you must!!) its usually a matter of survival hahaha...which you are doing well on that tooooo !

Well no pictures yet they are too sneaky. They like to hide on the smallest places. Well I hope they make it all the way until I get my 100 gal set up because I need to get them out soon.

Congrats.. Even with my obsession with getting the holding mommas out sometimes fry still get in my tanks?? I have little ones peeping out in my tanks for food.

They are so much fun to raise!!! Keep it up!

Well I have to hurry up and finish my new tank to take the big guys out and pull the rocks out to see if there's any more little ones. We'll see.

Its fun to count the fry lol... I just gathered all my little ones out of the 20l and put them i n the 36g for more grow out room, hopefully I will have some baby Flavus soon.

I always rotate my fry in grow out tanks going from a 10g to 20l to 36g. (spring and summer they don't make it past the 20lg where they are easier to ship and sale)... I have put off shipping fish but its paid off I have a lot of ready to go fish now....

If your fry turn out good an healthy you should check out aquabid for saleing them. Make a little extra fish money to buy food, chemicals, etc....
